What do you think it reveals?

I can't tell that it reveals anything other than that people are more likely to call young women "girls" than to call young men "boys".

I think this is as likely to be the preference of the young women themselves as anything else.

i mostly say "girl" and "guy" i think. i don't want to use separate words for young and old people, and i don't want to only use the adult words b/c I don't consider being an adult good/special/different, but the words kinda imply it is. but calling adults younger words implies they aren't special, which i like.

and yes i know "guy" has much weaker age connotations than the other words.

Gil,

it shows some preference for younger females, older males. in our culture, not by one gender.
