I really like the highlight videos and think they're valuable. I haven't watched any of the streams that they've highlighted and I appreciate them being cut down.
One reason I've not watched many past streams is that they sometimes have lower information density (e.g. via periods of silence). That's meant they have been less convenient to watch b/c I have to focus more. That focus is stuff like skipping silences, needing to concentrate more b/c it's sped up to help compensate for the silences, needing to make judgements about whether to skip some parts (like the parts that would get cut out of highlight vids)
I also like the way they're cut up. I've found that useful when I do something like going to the shops. I can pause on my main computer and then play a different 'chapter' from my phone without needing to start/resume at particular timestamps.
I like the feedback loop w/ Justin in discord too.

You could also focus *less*, play it in background.
#2 yeah, I have done that a bit. I like that more when watching curi's streams live, though. The chance to interact means I value those streams more (e.g. some of the IR streams before I started doing tutoring). When I play older streams in the background I find I tune out more and have once or twice forgotten I had it on until curi started speaking again.
Those downsides aren't necessarily that bad, tho. Like it's not hard to focus when something more relevant/interesting comes up and skip back a bit. That works best at playback speeds closer to 1x tho. One reason I prefer the highlight videos is that it's easier for me to playback at 1.5x or more.
(The playback speed thing is something I'll get better at w/ time, but I don't think it's a constraint for me atm and I am making some consistent progress)

Ya increasing the information density is the big idea :)

cool. i've been making timestamps on videos for a while, saw no reason to do any differently with these. good to hear that they're helpful

:D
Is there a reason the titles don't include topics?
e.g.
> curi Philosophy Stream Highlights #4
vs.
> curi Philosophy Stream Highlights #4 | Topics: wikipedia bias, learning philosophy, helping the world, correcting reading errors, getting stuck
Also, I thought Justin's thumbnail on highlights #4 was much better than previous thumbnails.
timestamps for podcasts? also opportunity for ppl to contribute
One thing I've liked about the highlight vids and tutorials -- the timestamps. It's made it easier to go back and find stuff I heard.
Maybe that could be done for podcasts too? It'd also be a way for ppl to contribute too.
e.g. I remember curi talking about social media posts/photos parents make about their kids, and how that was bad. I think it was a podcast maybe, but it's hard to go check that, unlike the videos where it's easier.
#6 go download the podcast transcripts from the podcast page. only the latest few are missing. then search the timestamped text files.
not the same as a table of contents listing main topics but you can search for terms like "photo".

Sure. Any volunteers?
